What’s happening to the drivers? Like Tim?
@Robert Mitchell i hope Tim is staying at Apex! One of the OC's and such a nice Guy too!
Hartz 4
So what exactly is the business model then?
What a fantastic taxi service you ran with such dream fleet of cars. Something for all tastes and aspirations to experience. Apex set the bar so high it will be difficult for another company to get anywhere near it. What a sight that GT2RS MR in the background is. Superb. Hope to get out and say hello one day.
@Robert Mitchell I had a feeling you would say something like that. Tim has come to mind throughout this whole process. You're a good man. : )
LOVE
I think it is the right descision for you guys - Having been at a track day with the 218 and M2 vs being in both the M3 and the older blue? McLaren I can say that the track day was great, just hanging out in the tent having a chat to people :-)
This seems like the right decision for Apex in all the right ways. Some day I'll also make a visit to see what the GT2 RS can do!
Fuck I love you guys. All about passion. Best job ever.
So... it will be possible to rent M3 taxi with mates?
What about having a car with hand controls for people with disabilities?
This is such a badass move guys! Giving up the Taxi aspect to spend more personal time with your customers. Unreal and hats off to you guys 👏🏻👏🏻
Let's hope most of us are able to visit this year again, our home away from home.
Thanks for the update. I don't travel to Europe very often but next time I'm there I will at least stop by, ideally drive your M2 around the ring.
Are you guys going to get a M5 CS for taxi laps with 3 passengers ? :-)
What a backdrop! I couldn’t think of a better backdrop.
So, more time for the racing team then I suppose? :)
As a business owner I fully get it, but still a little sad just from a nostalgia perspective. You guys are awesome
100% the best business decision for you all as a team and your customers 👏
Waw Strong dicision! 👏🏻
I gave this a thumbs down - the only time I will do this. This is disappointing. I always wanted a taxi lap with Ice Cold Moritz.
First time at the ring was a few years back. My friend who drove his Volvo there invited me. And yes, the ring was a very scary place for me, never ever was I putting my car on it. Got in as a passenger and that same day I did my first lap with my own car, still scary but the adrenaline.
Robet is your home garage heated? The Russian guy next to you looks like he's cold.... ohhh I get it, it is not to over heat the camera
So..... what is difference between Taxi and track days? You're still out on the track with customers burning the equipment, those expenses still have to be covered. BTW - Robert you seem to be a gentleman first, businessman second. A very rare trait these days. Man would I love to burn my '78 RX-7 on the Ring with Mischa hanging on followed with a Redbreast 15 with the two of you. Good luck in '21.
Good choice, focus on your core clients and keep enough time to run your business like you feel it should be run. ;)
Good luck guy's
Yes Yes Yes, great work Robert and Misha can't wait for fast laps in GT3 RS MR 👍
Hey Misha and Robert, I am sorry if you mentioned that and I missed it. Will you plan APEX Trackdays at the Nordschleife? This would be fantastic :)
Ultimately with the COVID situation Taxi doesn't make sense, given the cost to bid for the license and inability to recover those costs due to taxi likely not being able to run for at least the next 18 months. Feel bad for Tim, I hope he can find a drive as he's super talented and deserves it. I think you guys also shouldn't kid yourself, sure you care about the core customers and we do love you guys, but lately the tune of you videos have changed a lot compared to what the "old audience" is used to. I guess you have to adjust your approach now with how the channels have grown but kind of miss the old "call a spade, a spade" way of doing it. It just seems a bit "social media posturing" lately, besides the E30 series which is still in your old style. Sorry just my opinion and not bashing you guys, you need to do what you you feel is right given the wider reach etc. Still looking forward to meeting you when we eventually can make it.
Misha maybe You should emphasize the Fact that the Rental Car Business is continuing as usual! Lots of Questions on that here. Cheers
@Mike Dockal rental Business is not affected as i know!
That's what I would also like to understand. I had no interest in taxi but wanted to rent the M2 on a tourist day for few laps. I won't be in Europe anytime soon so I can wait for all the websites to be updated.
Are you going to get in touch with those who had pre-bookings or their laps canceled due to circumstances?
What Taxi license is exact for? Where is the border line between "taxi" and "non-taxi"? Can I still "book" one of Apex drivers to coach me, when I am driving at NBRing? Thank you for the great content!!
I've not made it to the Nurburgring yet, but when I do, it wasn't to get a taxi ride - with all due respect I've had enough passenger rides - it was to drive my own car after I've taken some tuition in one of your rental cars. So I'm behind this 100%.
I need to come back then for a good track-day! That is nice to hear and I like the change inside Apex! Miss you guys and good luck enjoying the most!
Sad news the one way, great news the other way! I hope to do a taxi lap in and the gt2 mr and the E30 M3 on a Trackday! But one thing is 100% sure, Apex is for me the way to go am ring! See you guys!
so basically you're going from public taxi to private taxi
Yep no TF but Trackdays
the car 😍🔥
if you are only going to do taxis on track days going forward. does this mean there is a chance for non street legal taxis in the future? give customers the chance to experience a true race car on track.
I trust Roberts business decisions .
Good luck with your new direction guys I wish you well and it seems like a very positive move. Well done. Robert, that bike in the background was a constant distraction (looks like an unno) When are you doing a video on it!
I gonna miss being pass by Tim with gt2rs on TF days 😭 but good decision guys 👍 focusing on enthusiast clients and not just the clients that doesn't know apex and just want one lap in one fast car
WOW what a change of plans. But they sound as amazing plans!! I'm really looking forward getting some coaching from you guys! Its incredible to see how well you guys know your core customers!
A tough but ultimately good decision guys! Looking forward to getting back there when I can. Was lucky to do taxi Laps with Tim in the 720 and M3 (backseat of course!) in 2019 - Great memories! X
Dyno with snacks and beer!
You guys are great!
If I hire an instructor for a we-drive session for a qualified driver to show me what's possible, how is that different from a Taxi lap ? Can I have an 8 minute lesson for 80 Euros ?
Good dessision folks.... Lets keep it friendly and fun on the Ring, learn new things, gain more driving experiense....everything else is secondary...
Is Apex securing the Nurburgring fo Apex Track Day a future thing? So we can wish Hyundai good luck with their Taxi endeavors?!
Sweet.
hey guys from australia. the taxis r now for track days only. will u still have rentals and if so can they run on TF days. cheers.
One of the top things in my bucket list is to get to Germany and visit with you and the track with one of my cars. It may be a few years, but it's not out of the question financially. It's a matter of logistics because of a spinal cord injury. Plus, COVID sure threw a monkey wrench into the mix. I am a patient man, and will do what it takes to accomplish this goal.
Wow 😳
My wife was just looking at some chairs like those on Amazon. 😆
I’m Robert & Misha thus is the right decision, and I’m looking forward to your new Gtm strategy how that pans out for out!! Need to book already for the Trackdays. Didn’t you mentioned that those are almost sold out for 2021???🤪😉
Staying true to core values for the Apex model will be your greatest decision moving upwards in 2021. Congratulations !
Its time for Robert to own his Muricaness. Factor excessive fuel and consumables into the price of a Mustang GT500 and pull the trigger on it as a taxi. Its as fast as a 991 gt3 RS on a couple u.s. road courses and it has a maintenance- free world class dct transmission. Learned men project its a sub 7:15 car before weight-stripping, alignment/suspension optimization and bolt-ons. You guys could really own this opportunity and be the global horse-whisperers of this once in a lifetime end of an era Mustang. The tuners in those German industrial parks would find some creative solutions to make this car even faster I'm certain.
So glad I got a ride in the Schirmer M3 when I was there on my rental laps too 😄 you guys are awesome. Highlight of my trip!!
Jaaaaaaaaaaaa...more time for mountain biking!
You made the right decision! Stay true to what Apex is about. That is what brought me to Apex.
🤓 & ✌🏼
kudos to you gents. best wishes with your re-found business goals. Hope to experience it some day in the future before I push up daisies
Best!
Fuuuuck! The GT2RS MR exactly the way it is behind you guys is absolutely the most awesome “shot” of this car! I reeeeeealy hope that I can go this year or next year spend some time with you guys!
NIce to see an mtb in the background 😁
Is that a UNNO mountain bike in the background??
Respect !
Not even that but you have to look at how COVID has effected the world and the current rules at the Nurburgring, the license isn’t free and it’s very likely that you won’t even be able to run the taxi for a large part of the year.
I love the truly International crew...how can I join?...Sean in US...:)
Looks like a great idea, instead of relying on TF days, someone like me that lives in another country can plan a trip when you have track days and reeeaally get to enjoy the entire Nurburgring experience through what Apex has to offer.
Hopefully get to make the journey in 2022/3
Thank you for keeping it real.
You are ABSOLUTELY doing the right thing - 2021 will be tough with Covid & vaccines not yet finished, but in 2022 you guys will be rocking - I can tell you for sure, I'm coming over from Canada, to stay at your hotel and drive 2 days on the track. Treat 2021 as the investment for a booming 2022 and beyond. Love both your guy's content and see you in 2022 or maybe late fall 2021 if everything opens up. Paul
Will the M3 still ve available for trackday laps? I wanted so bad to come and have a lap with my buddies in that M3 flying through the nordschleife with a competent driver at hands but 2020 ruined it, so I hope we'll be able to in some trackday in 2021.
How come Robert is that tan ?!
wirklich schade :( the Apex taxis was great to see by the Touristenfahrten and make with Dale Lomas Jaguars a nice show at the Ring
If Misha does racing, he may be busier. And Robert will have more responsibilities as Tier 1 media.
I have got credit open for a lap in the gt2rs. I will wait for as long as needed, but sure hope I am still able to get a lap in the n2 seat of the gr2rs
Getting excited at the thought of the GT2 RS getting pushed even harder than it already does! Laps at a faster pace? Can't wait! Ye guys are just killing it. Tier 1 all the way! 🤗
Well the reality of cost versus reward has finally sunk in. The numbers just don’t add Up, the rest is just window. Dressing for the fans, just like politics.
Licenses, cars, Tyres, drivers wages, depreciation, brakes, suspension, fuel, maintenance, insurance, administration, facilities provision, advertising and promotion, to name the few that come to mind. I’m sure there are more but you know better than me I’m sure.
That’s actually not true. I face the larger liability with laps that Owe people due to pre-and re-bookings‘s from Covid than what the license would’ve cost us for 2 years and I’m keeping the cars... Where is the savings you speak of
Well the reality of cost versus reward has finally sunk in. The numbers just don’t add Up, the rest is window. Dressing for the faithful.
The bikes are back in town....the bikes are back in town!
My heart sank to hear the "no". But I know you guys know better as what to do with the business. Good luck. I'll still be watching your amazing content Misha and Robert!
Brilliant misha and Robert 😎👌sounds like a much better way for you both 🙌no point doing it if it’s stressing you and your team out 🙌🙌sometimes bigger isn’t always better 😉😉😉😉👍👍😎back to where you started sounds Uber cool to me 👍👍👍😎😎😎onwards and upwards boys 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌more time means more vids and minty content 👍👍👍👍👍😎
I'm coming in May on my bike but definitely booking a track day lap in the MR!
11:55 , I know I know, controversial subject. But the fact that I can get in a taxi knowing that we will now (at least try to) go at a proper proper pace is something I’ll definitely want to do next time I’m at the ring. I want to experience a lap at that pace, not just the amazing car but to actually feel those late braking points, high G’s and everything else that contributes to a really fast lap... Very exciting!👍
Less stress on the whole team = Greater focus on providing a better product and better overall experience = WIN-WIN situation for everyone! Nice !
It’s a hard decision but I respect you for putting your staff and customers first, and working to build a long term successful business. Too many business I have seen are taken over by the accountants chasing the bottom line and go downhill fast.
Much respect! You guys understand that businesses are about people. That is becoming less and less common.
Trackday sounds really inviting now... lets see what a year without taxi licence gives you to reflect...
Best wishes to all at Apex. Continued success.
Hi to both of you. I was hoping al the time, as probably some others, that you will continue with taxi, partly from being selfish, because that is one my “to do” list, partly because it seamed impossible not to run a taxi, having all those great taxi cars, special designed for that (4 seater!!!) and with all great drivers!! But hearing your explanation and plans, it is probably very good decision. Best thing is, there are other new options to get in “touch” with you and cars👍 in less stressful conditions and environment!! Thumps up. 👍
I can hardly wait to come visit once my medical woes get fixed and Scotland gets out of full lockdown something to look forward to in the new year if this year didn't improve
Taxi Schmaxi, lets do laps and track days with friends.
Yes!!!!
A bit of a downer 😕 I always liked Misha's reaction shots of passengers after they have completed a taxi lap.
Those still will be in place!
how much does it cost per year? anyone know?
👍🤓👍
Can’t say I’m not a little bit disappointed after being out in the f80 in 2019 and I was hopefully going to get there this year for a taxi lap in the gt2.But if I do get there this year I’ll try and go during a track day.Best of luck 👍.
As long as your creating new video not problem for me 😅 cause if i have money and time same time I'll come to nurburg and find, meet you any way ✌️🤗
Man if I lived in Europe I would have been a regular visitor to you guys! Excited to see what 2021 brings for you and the new direction!
Great Content! I’m here since 2018 and i enjoyed every video i watched, hope i can get in this or next year in your Taxi🤩
Robert needs to upgrade to Tier 1 eyeglass frames to keep up with Mischa.
I wanna go laser surgery
This is why Robert, Misha and Apex is so successful. Adaptive yet consistently excellent in a very uncertain 2021.
Taxi is all fine, however I do not like when somebody is driving nice car and I am not 😉 I hope GT 2 will join rentals 😆
Hehehehhe. Don’t hold your breath 🤣
As someone who is not familiar with the nurburgring rules, what's the difference between "track days" and taxi laps? Upside downside of the two?
